Holding a bachelor’s degree in human resources and a master’s degree in project management, Tanya Taupier has served as executive director of human resources for Aetna in Hartford, Connecticut, since 2010. Away from her professional responsibilities, Tanya Taupier enjoys supporting the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
In November, the Yankees completed their highest-profile trade yet of the 2016 offseason, dealing catcher Brian McCann, who waived his no-trade clause, to the Houston Astros for two right-handed minor-league pitchers, Albert Abreu and Jorge Guzman. The Yankees no longer needed McCann’s services as their other catcher, Gary Sanchez, proved himself as the runner-up in the American League Rookie of the Year voting.
McCann signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the Yankees in 2013, but though the team had high hopes for him, his performance in New York had been rather mediocre. While the Yankees were able to unload most of his salary, they will still have to pay $11 million of the remaining $34 million contract.
